is this magic? is a new experimental dance solo blending live performance and screendance film projections to examine anti self-curation as a radical act of personal acceptance. Unfolding through a movement score prioritizing intuition, desire, resourcefulness, and play, each iteration of is this magic? is a unique manifestation, offering nuance and fresh meaning.
In 2024 "is this magic?" was presented in Minneapolis, Duluth + Two Harbors, Minnesota with a total of 4 performances. Over 100 people interacted with work through artist chats + interactive lobby displays + performances.2025 RURAL MINNESOTA TOURIn 2025 Kayla is bringing performances of is this magic? accompanied by an artist chat and creative movement workshop to Ely, Grand Marais, Battle Lake and Detroit Lakes.
